Youth Professional Development, Incorporation (YPD) is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization that has successfully provided services in Maryland for over eleven years. YPD provides intervention and prevention services for at-risk adolescent parents. The mission of YPD is to eliminate the barriers that preclude youth from achieving self-sufficiency, becoming healthier individuals, more nurturing parents and productive citizens.
The goals of YPD are to offer information and education, promote academic achievement, career preparation, and provide opportunities for personal, career, and parenting growth. These goals are accomplished by empowering at-risk adolescents to: make healthier decisions; improve the level of self-esteem and self-confidence, abstain from deviant behavior, complete high school, develop leadership and job readiness skills, develop positive parenting skills and prepare for a career.
